Overview

This 14 days Morocco itinerary from Casablanca to Marrakech links four very different Moroccos in one private loop: the imperial north, the Middle Atlas, the Sahara and the High Atlas, finishing on the Atlantic coast at Essaouira before a last stretch in Marrakech. You travel with your own driver and vehicle, with local guides in Fes and Marrakech, and with time to slow down where it matters: two nights in Chefchaouen, two in Fes, two in the desert and three in Marrakech.

The days are built around people as much as monuments. You can sit down to a home-cooked lunch with a local family in Chefchaouen (on request), spend time with a nomad family near Merzouga, and spend an evening in Imlil, the mountain village at the foot of the High Atlas. Every day lists its distance and estimated driving time, so you know what to expect before you book.

Three days include long drives (Days 6, 8 and 9). They are flagged in advance with rest stops planned, and the longest ones can be split with an extra night.

Who This 14 Days Morocco Tour Suits

This itinerary works well for travelers who want one private trip that covers several regions of Morocco rather than just one, and who like a mix of cities, villages and open landscapes.

Traveler Why this itinerary fits
Couples A private vehicle and driver, and a pace you set together, from the coast to the Sahara.
Families No fixed group schedule, so stops and rest breaks can move around your children’s needs.
Friends traveling together One shared private vehicle for the whole group, with room to add optional experiences along the way.
First-time visitors to Morocco The route links the north, the imperial cities, the Sahara, the High Atlas and the Atlantic coast in one loop.
Travelers who like meeting local people Family meals, a nomad visit and a mountain village stay give the trip a more personal side.

This route asks more of travelers who dislike long days on the road: Days 6, 8 and 9 are all long drives, even though they can be split with extra nights. If you would like a gentler rhythm, see our 15 days Morocco tour from Casablanca, which has one more day and only two long driving days, or read our guide to planning a custom Morocco itinerary.

Trip Pace & Difficulty

Overall, this is a moderate trip: no technical hiking or camping skills are needed, but it covers real distances, and three of the driving days are long.

Aspect What to expect
Driving About 2,250–2,450 km over 14 days. Most days are 5 hours or less. Day 6 (~8–9 h), Day 8 (~6–7 h) and Day 9 (~6–7 h) are the long ones, and they can be split with extra nights.
Walking in medinas Uneven, sometimes steep lanes in Chefchaouen, Fes, Essaouira and Marrakech. Comfortable flat shoes are enough; no special fitness is required.
Chefchaouen The climb to the Spanish Mosque is about 30–40 minutes uphill; it is optional but is the best sunset spot.
Camel trek and dunes A camel ride into Erg Chebbi (no riding experience needed) and walking on soft sand, including the sunrise walk on Day 7.
Todra Gorges and Aït Ben Haddou A mostly flat walk between the canyon walls, and a climb through the lanes of the ksar; both are easy underfoot.
Imlil A small mountain village at about 1,700 m, with cooler air and short optional walks. Climbing Mount Toubkal is not part of this itinerary.
Free time A free morning in Chefchaouen on Day 3, a slow morning in Essaouira on Day 11 and a full free day in Marrakech on Day 13.

If anyone in your group has mobility concerns, tell us before booking. We can adjust which sites are visited on foot and how the long driving days are split.

Optional Experiences

Most of this 14 days Morocco tour is fixed, but a few moments are optional rather than part of the standard price. Availability and cost should be confirmed when you book.

Day Optional experience
3 – Chefchaouen Lunch with a local family and a Moroccan tea ceremony, on request.
7 – Merzouga A traditional medfouna lunch, the desert “Berber pizza” baked in the sand, on request.
9 – Ouarzazate and Imlil A visit to the Atlas Studios film sets, and a home-cooked dinner with a local family in Imlil, on request.
13 – Marrakech free day A sunrise hot-air balloon flight, a Moroccan cooking class, a hammam and spa session, a henna session, Jardin Majorelle, a dinner with live music, or extra time in the souks.

None of these are included in the standard cost (see the Cost tab above); let us know which ones interest you and we will confirm timing and price with your quote.
